Hand thrown fat lava glaze bowl by Charles Cart, circa 1960s
History:
Le Cyclope pottery was located in Annecy-le-Vieux in the Haute Savoie region of France and was named after the Rocher du Cyclope mountain peak. In 1961 Charles Cart registered the brand name La Poterie d'Annecy and in 1963 the brand "Le Cyclope, émaux des glaciers, émaux des neiges were registered. The company produced outlandish Lava Glaze pottery pieces in blue, honey yellow, green, and red on both hand thrown and blank pottery pieces until it closed in 1980.
