This hand-knotted wool distressed antique Persian Malayer gallery rug features a diamond-shaped floral centre medallion with elongated arrow pendants on an abrashed scarlet red field with an all-over diamond pattern. Ink blue spandrels with a boteh pattern and a crab border complement the central design. An inner saffron yellow guard stripe features a lovely floral Meander border, while the outer scarlet red border balances the composition with repeated floral and boteh motifs. Employing a variety of Classic patterns and colors, this antique Malayer exemplifies the time-honored traditions of Persian rug making.
