A Very Fine Walnut Hepplewhite Chest of Drawers, Delaware Valley, Circa 1790's
Pennsylvania or Delaware Valley, Circa 1790
Superb crotch grain drawer fronts, 2 over 3 lip moulded drawer arrangement. square edge top, with a moulded skirt all resting on applied French flared bracket feet.
Original brasses, and original feet. Yellow pine drawer linings, and Cedar drawer bottoms.
A very clean and pure chest of drawers. 100% ready for service.
Size: 39" wide, 23 1/4" deep, 39" tall. Case Width: 38"
Condition: Minor patches to some of the lip mouldings on the drawers. Refinished. 3 locks missing. The lock holes were patched over on the interior. No effect on the outward appearance of the chest. Original feet, and original brasses. Some abrasions, scratches, scuffs associated with age and use. One small piece of the lip moulding broke off during photography process. it is included in the drawer. Fire marks on the top, drawers have a slight wood smoke odour on the interior.
