The seat and sides (feet) are of hardwood construction making the bench structurally sturdy. They also have a slight curved contour enhancing the overall design. The finish is a Crackle texture that is Ivory in color and the edges of both the seat and sides have been slightly antiqued by hand. As an added design feature there is a Ivory-colored Silk braided rope that spans the middle of the bench below the seat bottom and end with a hand-knotted silk tassel (7"L x 2.5"W) that protrudes from each side. The bottoms of the side legs each feature nylon glides for ease of movement of the bench. The Tassel Bench is well suited for use in a formal Living Room, Family Room, Four Season Room, Den, Foyer or mud room. The piece is a rare find and it is in pristine, 1st quality, showroom condition (albeit no longer made) and it has had no previous owner. See less
