bernard rooke was born in 1938 and studied ceramics at goldsmiths college in london. In 1960, he opened a studio in forest hill. Rooke produced progressive sculptural work, and the first pieces were shaped by hand using rollers and blocks. His work can be found in private collections as well as in museums and galleries around the world, including the victoria and albert museum in london.
