A framed oil on canvas by listed British artist J V Capua (b. 1949). The scene depicts the channel fleet, consisting of frigates, gunbrigs, sloops and gunboats on slightly rough seas against a changeable sky, signed in the lower right corner and dated 1981. Set in a carved and beveled gilt frame. A label on the back reads "#302 The Channel Fleet Getting Under Way After a Storm. Lord Cornwallis in Ville de Paris Signals 'Make Sail' J.V.Capua. PH.D Marine Artist"
