This narrative mirror in the Napoleon III style features an engaging pediment where two dragon-like creatures flank a basket of flowers and trailing vines. The central rectangular mirror plate projects outward from the frame, enclosed and lifted by a border of four small mirrored panels ornamented with elaborate metal corners in similar foliate motif to the crown. The mirror plates are original, all five exhibit varying degrees of foxing and a thin haze of oxidation. Please note some of the ebonized molding is absent or has been expertly repaired, see the detailed images for the current condition and remarkable craft within this cushion mirror.
