The brass legs … Read more Mastercraft in Grand Rapids, Michigan, produced some amazing pieces, and this coffee table is one of them! The brass legs catch your attention immediately as they radiate a warm glow in the afternoon sun. They are substantial and quite heavy, but they are actually hollow on the inside. The frame of this table is decorated with Asian-inspired motifs that include people and scenes from nature. Some of the figures are actually raised instead of being flat. There is a brown varnish covering the entire wooden frame, which I believe to be original to the piece. There is no stamp or label on this table indicating that it was produced by Mastercraft. Their sideboards and other case pieces have a fabric label affixed to the interior of one of the drawers.

This coffee table is in remarkably good condition. There is a small indentation in the wood on one of the corners (refer to picture 11). The glass insert doesn't have any chips or cracks in it. The brass legs are beautiful and only have very minor signs of age on them. I photographed this table outside on a sunny day, so there are shadows in some of the pictures. Once placed inside a room, the color of the wooden frame may take on a different color when viewed under artificial light. This is a very heavy table and requires two people to move it.
