The paintings are portraits of two gentlemen, one dark-haired, the other blonde. Very specifically painted in relatively dark tones. The paintings date from around 1707 - 1889; you can find relevant notes on the back of a picture. Apart from the actual images, there is something else that makes these paintings unique. The pictures are in high-quality wooden frames. These wooden frames were covered with fish skin and gilded. This special work is a great and very rare technique. The size of the two beauties is 34 cm x 29 cm. The condition is good. The pieces are sold as a pair only, the price is for both paintings. See less
