Add a touch of Victorian elegance to your home with this beautiful antique shelf. Crafted from rich, dark Walnut wood, this shelf features a stunning (possibly Minton) tile centerpiece depicting a fox characteristic of the Aesthetic Movement.
Aesthetic Movement Style: The overall design of the shelf, with its clean lines, geometric fretwork, and use of decorative tile, aligns with the Aesthetic Movement (c. 1870-1900). This movement emphasized beauty and artistry in everyday objects.
Intricate Woodworking: The shelf displays skilled craftsmanship with its meticulously carved and joined details. Notice the decorative fretwork along the top and sides, as well as the corbels supporting the shelf.
