Rare pair of original "Duc" lounges chairs in a rich dark brown leather by Mario Bellini for Cassina, Italy, c.1980s. Leather-wrapped panels are attached by zippers (a classic Bellini design element) to create the base structure for the chairs. The thick box cushions sit freely inside the frame, allowing for very comfortable seating. The piping on the cushions adds a delicate detail to chairs that many might think of as a masculine form. This set is part of the Duc collection which was designed in 1976 - all of them exude sophistication.
The Duc series was originally designed for the European market, and was not imported to American showrooms.
