Clay Walker (1924-2008) found his niche in the contemporary art world, specializing in original graphics, limited edition prints and oil paintings. Yet his work has been displayed minimally since the late 1960s.
Thousands of Clay Walker’s creations have been lost to the art world for the past 40 years until shortly after Walker’s death in 2008. They were rediscovered when Muriel Walker was introduced to Perry Meyer, an art expert with a passion for 20th century original prints. Walker’s artwork was reintroduced to the public when Meyer Fine Art opened its first Walker retrospective in 2009; each year following the gallery has a solo Walker show March/April.

During this period Walker he became reclusive; he kept apart from the mainstream art scene, only allowing family members, close friends and trusted collectors to view his pieces. He spent the majority of his time working in the studio. Clay Walker died in March 2008.
Walker was a master of diverse art media with an eye for vivid color and unique design. He specialized in original graphics, limited edition prints, paintings and sculptures. Clay Walker artwork has been shown in over 200 exhibitions throughout the U.S., including the Museum of Modern Art, the San Francisco Museum of Fine Art and the Library of Congress. As a teacher, all throughout his adult life, he motivated his students to master the basic art techniques then go beyond the traditional boundaries of creativity. On the west coast he

A work of art is a thing alive. You cannot create a work of art unless the things you behold respond to something within you. – Clay Walker
