A 1980 collage and drawing by the American artist Shirley Aley Campbell (1925-2018). A collages images of legs, Nivea cream, hangers, and shoes are arranged in a Pop Art inspired composition. Graphite scribbles are layered over portions of the composition. Signed along the right edge, the work is displayed in a silver tone metal frame and behind a white mat.
Shirley Aley Campbell was an Ohio artist, graduating with a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Additionally, she studied at the Cleveland Museum of Art, Pratt Institute of Art, and the Art Student's League of New York. Her work is known for pushing boundaries and exploring themes of humankind, depicting the forgotten members of society.
