This is a perfect … Read more This architectural rendering in watercolor is of a Mid-Century Lake house on McGregor Lake in Montana. This is a perfect shot of what that life was like in the 1960's, down to the beautiful wood boat waiting to cruze the lake. Painted in 2005 by Burt Gewalt from pictures of his lake house in the 1960's. It has a simple white matte and is waiting for your custom frame. Watercolor is about 11 X 17", the dimensions listed are including the matte.

The artist, Burt Gewalt, (1916-2009) was an architect by trade and instumental in the National Parks Service "Mission 66" program.

Here is some of his bio:
The 1950s marked a turning point for national parks. A post-war America was booming and people were recreating like never before. To meet increased public demand and to prepare for the 50th Anniversary of the National Park Service in 1966, park directors enacted an ambitious 10 year plan to modernize and expand park infrastructure nationwide. The program was called Mission 66. Glacier boasts two Mission 66 visitor centers: St. Mary and Logan Pass. St. Mary Visitor Center was completed in 1967 and is located adjacent to the park entrance. Burt L. Gewalt, of the firm Brinkman and Lenon, Architects and Engineers of Kalispell, Montana, was responsible for both visitor centers Like other Mission 66 buildings in Glacier National Park, the coffee shop was designed by Gewalt. Lake McDonald Lodge Coffee Shop is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. See less
