This magnificent and unique Museum Quality Kuba Mukenga bird dancing sculpture, known as Mukyeem, was handcrafted by the Kuba tribal people of Congo, Africa. It is made of wood, cloth, and raffia, and adorned with intricate geometric beaded designs and cowrie shells. Designed to be hold by the men of the dance society, this Mukenga is also used in ceremonies and initiation rites to symbolize the supernatural being called Woot. According to Kuba beliefs, Woot was the first human and the creator of all animals and things in existence. The Kuba are often referred to as the "Children of Woot." This eye-catching sculpture stands at 32 inches in height and measures 9 inches in both width and depth, making it a truly remarkable and significant piece.
