Item description:
Fabulous, enormous blown glass vase, submerged in Murano, acid-etched to give the effect of an antique vase found in an excavation. Made by Livio Seguso for Renato Bisazza's design brand. The vase is signed under the base with the Bisazza design brand, made with acid. The vase is of excellent size and extremely heavy, considering that it is 38.5 centimeters tall and weighs about 7 kg. The shape of the vase is reminiscent of a Roman amphora, with a raised curb on the widest part of the belly applied by hand that follows a wavy pattern. Bisazza is a leading designer company in the production of glass mosaics and is internationally renowned for the production of many highly prized artistic objects. The manufacturer designed the model for our vase and then commissioned Livio Seguso's artistic glassworks to produce it.
Useful information for evaluating the item:
An internet search shows that the scavo glass vases made by Seguso glassworks for Bisazza are offered for sale at very high prices, ranging from a minimum of €800-900 for the smallest ones, €1,500-2,000 for medium-sized ones, and €2,500 upwards for large ones like ours. This is to give an idea of the value of this type of vase.
