Gorgeous Tony Paul wicker stool or stylish side table, produced in the United States in the 50s. This iconic and sturdy stool is in fabulous condition and with a charming warm color. It features a mix of hand-woven rattan wicker while sitting on top of three solid beech wood tapered legs, giving the stool wonderful proportions. The tapered legs can be removed. The center of the seat shows the characteristic Tony Paul's pattern for closing the hand-woven rattan. The perfect proportions, the amazing condition and color make this stool incredibly charming and stylish. Perfect accent piece to complete a midcentury modern space. Dimensions in cm: 33 Diameter 31 Height Tony Paul was a world famous American designer. Above all, he is known for his designs of furniture, dishes and lighting design. He grows up in the Bronx and lives in New York for his whole life. He studies at the Pratt Institute Paul initially works on ergonomic designs for Robert Barber Inc. Finally, Paul founds his own design company Tony Paul and Associates.His designs are produced by various companies such as Raymor, Westwood, Verplex, Woodlin-Hall, The Elton Company. He himself is a partner of the Elton Company.Paul wins several design awards, including the Good Design Award of the New York Museum of Modern Art. During his career he was in contact with many mid-century industrial designers, including Arthur Umanoff, Russell Wright, Ben Seibel and Paul McCobb.
