* Maciej Urbaniec (1925–2004) was a Polish artist, graphic designer and poster artist. He was one of the pioneers of the Polish School of Poster Art. from 1975 until his death he worked as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
In the 1970s, Urbaniec worked for the American publisher Jack Rennert and began collaborating with Warsaw theaters. The theater became the center of his work. His teaching had a great influence on the artists of the third generation (1960-80s) of the Polish School of Poster Art.
