A stunning lavabo set, made by the prominent French faience factory in Gien
A wall fountain and a basin made of fine faience with a brass/bronze zoomorphic spigot
Polychrome hand painted decorations depicting intriguing, somehow grotesque creatures inspired by the Italian Renaissance
There is a monogramed medallion with DG at the front center of the basin, possibly the set was commissioned individually
All three pieces are marked Gien, the fountain is dated 1867
Measurements: Approximately: the water fountain is 21.5 tall x 9.75" x 7" with he spigot; the basin is 17" x 11" x 5.5" deep
The set weighs 15 lbs. 8 oz.
Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. A flea bite glaze flake at the basin rim, hard to notice. All original.
