Filik kilim rugs have a rich history, particularly in Turkey’s Aegean and Mediterranean regions. These carpets are important examples of traditional handwoven art and are primarily produced in areas such as Fethiye and its surroundings. The term "Filik" refers to carpets woven with fine threads, typically made from goat wool , and characterized by intricate, detailed patterns.
Filik is the name given to the most curly part of the goat hair mostly at the bottom neck and between the back legs.
We are talking about the world famous Ankara goat of which the original breed does not exist any more due to usage of hormones and other gready chemicals in the enviroment
These tiny rugs because of their precious material filik are named filikli, and they have been woven non-commercially by families with the material of their goat and to be used by themselves
No program,no eyes sparkling with dolar sign no market oriented,no fashion colors,no dealers in between with high colesyrole and blood pressure, but with forgiving, with patience, with delicassy, with love and with wisdom not with sharpness...i.e. Organic
