This ceramic owl is a captivating blend of traditional craftsmanship and vivid artistry. Butterflies, birds and other animals have been meticulously hand painted in a striking color palette. Lush vines and leaves complete the opulent scene. This whimsical owl is large and a wonderful example of Mexican folk art. Signed on the lower back:

Cerámica Suro is a family-owned factory that opened its doors in Tlaquepaque, Mexico, in 1951. It specialized in dinnerware and decorative objects for luxury hotels in the area. Tlaquepaque is especially known for its ceramics and pottery.
