This handsome utilitarian storage bench is covered with an antique Caucasion Shirvan carpet from the Russian district of the Caucasus Mountains. The lid of the box is covered with the field of the original rug and the base of the box features the border with a row of star shaped medallions on a blue field with ivory rosettes. Sits upon turned wooden feet.
