1964 – 69 and from 1979 – 80.
An accomplished artist in several mediums, Warnholtz won numerous prizes and purchase
awards for his Art Works. He participated in many one-man and group exhibitions at the
Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Sioux City Art Center, the Schlier Gallery in Denver,
the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles, and at Carleton and other institutions in the Midwest.
On sabbatical during the 1955-56 academic year, Warnholtz traveled to Mexico & studied
lithography at the San Miguel de Allende Instituto.
This work is dated 1957 & titled “Matador”
This Gestural Lithograph’s Subject a different take on the subject.
Warnholtz rejects the sterotype & shows us a subtle approach.
& portrayal shows a softer, contemplative face.
