The painting depicts a scene on the Maggiore Lake during the mid-century or later mid-century. Bianchi was known for his loose impressionist brushwork, which you can see in the glittering water, texture on the buildings and cloud/sky details. I love that it feels very romantic and Italian and Old World. It is framed in an ornate, carved, gilt-wood frame and is ready for hanging with a wire on the back.
