She is perhaps a … Read more Incredibly charming vintage textile art wallhanging of an African Lady carrying a sack on her head. She is perhaps a street vendor in her village or on her way home with a bag of rice from the local market. The style in which she's depicted is slight juvenile, almost like it's from a children's book illustration. She's made of a combination of cotton fabric and felt and the bag on her head is stuffed with some material making it stick out just a little bit. Background is burlap and the frame is painted black. The photos show that she's missing an earring on the left but I actually have that missing earring (see photo). It fell off and I will let the new owner re-attach it to the artwork. This piece is signed on the bottom right but the signature is very faint (see photo). Most likely from the 1960s or 1970s. See less
