Lightolier, 1965, Brass, Blown Glass, 8" wide, body is 20.5" long, variable drop.
Pendant lamp specifically designed for a dining room setting by Lightolier. A tear drop style featuring solid brass components giving way to a glass egg of frosted opaline like glass commonly seen in Danish designs, it imparts a warm glow with the light diffused well at eye level, with the mouth allowing more light to directly illuminate below. Perfect for casting sufficient light in an area with perhaps 20-30% more in the field below. The glass is likely produced and imported from Sweden.
Can be used also to highlight a credenza or cabinet area.
The drop can be changed by altering the length of the wire. Currently in total 36" drop height. Plate is 6.25" wide. The tear shaped egg is 8" x 5.5". The total fixture length including egg and brass rod is 20.5".
Signed to ceiling plate and ready for installation. The mouth of the opening is 3.25" wide thus allowing larger bulbs to be used up to 150 watt. LED and florescent equivalents can increase this by two fold.
