This black ceramic vase was handmade in Bisalhães, a small village in the north of Portugal, during the 1960's. Rare item, with an unusual shape, decorated in relief with geometric motifs. In an unique technique where the way this clay crockery is cooked is what gives it the black color and what makes it so distinctive. That is also why some fire "stains" appear on the glaze. It is in original condition, with no chips or cracks.
