Stunning mid-century modern Murano style sommerso catch-all attributed to Flavio Poli for Seguso. Made of thick blue, yellow/orange and transparent glass. It is extremely decorative. Perfectly works as a catch-all, a vide poche, a small vase, an ashtray or just as a decorative object. Can be used as a display piece on any table.
Height: 3.9''; length: 3.5''; width: 3.5''. Quite heavy (1.6 kg). Excellent vintage condition - some very light usual scratches.
"Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
