Large cylindrical vase in highly iridescent Murano glass, with horizontal and vertical applications.

Rare vase of refined beauty designed by Ercole Barovier, in the 1930s.

Ercole Barovier is one of the greatest glass designers, a great innovator who conceived and patented new glass processing techniques.

In 1936, due to the great international crisis, Ercole Barovier liquidated the Barovier company and merged it into S.A.I.A.R. (Società Anonima Industrie Artistiche Riunite), which was then absorbed by a new company, Ferro Toso e Barovier Vetrerie Artistiche Riunite S.A.

Ferro, Toso e Barovier was founded in 1936 and was replaced in 1939 with Barovier & Toso.

During the 3 years of the Triunvirate, Barovier participated in the 1936 Venice Biennale and the Paris Universal Exhibition where his thick, iridescent glass and his new hot coloring technique were rewarded.

The vase is in excellent conservative condition, with slight signs but no breaks or chipping. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
