This is a rare beautiful set of 2 original antique framed English botanical prints that were published in 1800! These botanical prints were illustrated and dated 1794 but were republished in 1800. These 225 year old English botanicals are not modern reproductions! They have been newly matted and framed using only conservation quality products including UV glass. A brief history of the renowned English illustrator, J. Sowerby, will be provided on the back. These scarce, high quality framed original botanicals are sure to add sophistication, beauty, and interest to any room!
These antique botanicals are very special since they also include the original description of each botanical. These dated, age toned, colored botanical prints of Sweet Milk Vetch and Sea Plantain are beautifully detailed with colors of soft greens, yellow, purple, charcoal grey on a beige back ground. They show the hallmarks of their age which adds beauty and character with age toning, spotting and some slight creasing.
Wouldn't it be great to look back in time and add interest and conversation to any room with actual antique prints as opposed to being vintage style?
