As an … Read more American painter, Ross Bleckner (b. 1949,) graduated from New York University and the California Institute of the Arts. As an openly gay artist, Bleckner frequently addressed the AIDS epidemic symbolically in his art. His flower themes represented the transience of humanity and the inevitability mortality. More specifically the “tenor” of transformation. This unsigned painting is enamel on a paper card with black tape folded over the margins. The paint presents at two levels with a matte substrate and shiny relief.

Vintage from the 1990s, this painting is in very good original condition with wear consistent with age and use. The simple black frame has been repaired on the lower edge.
