Offered is a handmade mouth-blown art glass carafe/decanter/vase from the Tropico collection designed by Göran Wärff for Pukeberg Glazbruk, Sweden … Read more Offered is a handmade mouth-blown art glass carafe/decanter/vase from the Tropico collection designed by Göran Wärff for Pukeberg Glazbruk, Sweden in the early 1960s. There are three types of carafe in Tropico, all human shaped, and this is one of the two females, and the larger of the two sizes. The graduating ombre blue and green colors, with a touch of amber/copper at the base are undeniably evocative of a tropical sunset over the ocean. The original teak stopper is not available, we have shown images of a sculptural cork stopper that works and fits well with this piece, and can include it upon request.
Measures 4" diameter at ridge, 3.5" base diameter, 14.625" tall

Göran Wärff (1933-2022), was employed at Pukeberg, Sweden as head-designer from 1958-1964. These pieces have also been found with a Raymor label, it seems Raymor collaborated with numerous mid 20th century renowned artisanal studios such as Bitossi and Arthur Umanoff. See less
