This stunning, high-quality crystal chalice-style girandole sits well in a place of focus such as a Victorian mantle or entry … Read more This stunning, high-quality crystal chalice-style girandole sits well in a place of focus such as a Victorian mantle or entry hall table. When lit, if placed near a wall, the cut crystal creates a delightful pattern on the wall, and the deep ruby color glows richly through the glass. When unlit, it appears almost black, though the richness of the ruby color embedded in the thick glass is evident. Surrounding the glass cup are finely cut teardrop crystals with jewels, adding to the formality of the piece.

We discovered this beauty still packed in its original excelsior. It was made in West Germany, U.S. Zone by fine artisans during the re-construction period after World War II in the late 1940's into the 1950's. It is most likely "STAR CRYSTAL", as shown on tags found on other pieces with them. It exhibits near-perfect execution in masterful glassmaking, glass cutting, and finishing, and is made with extremely fine craftsmanship.

We have mounted it on a black wood base and completed it with the parts and work necessary to turn it into an exotic night lamp. It is electrified for use with a candelabra bulb and has a sleek rocker switch on the cord for on-off. See less
