Oil on cardboard from the estate of Atlanta self taught artist Laurence Stuart Connatser (1938-1996). It is painted on cardboard and has a mat cut by the artist hinged over it. Signed and dated on the back.
Connatser was born in Birmingham, Alabama and grew up in Atlanta. He earned degree in literature from Vanderbilt in 1961 before moving to Chicago where he worked in publishing. During this time he began to paint, continuing after he moved to Savannah in 1971 and later in Atlanta. He died in Atlanta of AIDS in 1996.
Deaccessed recently from the Georgia museum his estate was bequeathed to.
