Portrait of a Man Smoking a Pipe in Oil on Masonite
Detailed portrait of a man with a pipe by Heinz Robert Schubert (German, 1912-2001 approx.). A man wearing a short-brimmed hat is looing to the left, with a pipe in his mouth. He is rendered with careful detail, showing all of the details in his face. A well known and prolific painter of character studies from various nationalities was his specialty. Also a talented still life of florals painter.
Signed "Heinz Robert Schubert" in the lower right corner.
Presented in a stained pine wood frame.

Board size: 12.5"H x 9.5"W
Heinz Robert Schubert (1912-2001) was born and lived in Essen and studied at the Academy in Düsseldorf. Listed in the Vollmer artist dictionary. the artists actual biography is slight due to numerous artists of a similar name. We don't believe the lithographs and etchings of german city scenes is his work.
