This authentic early 18th century original chiaroscuro woodcuts (c.1708) is after the original drawing by Hubert Goltzius. (Dutch, 1526–1583). It depicts a Roman emperor. On the reverse of each is a description in Latin. Published in Antwerp, Belgium in 1708. These prints are rare and it is difficult to acquire sets of more than 3 or 4 of these woodcuts. Most retail prices range between $200-$350 each. Dimensions: Apprx. . 9" x 10.5" plus folds at top and bottom of sheet (each fold apprx. 1") ; each medallion apprx. 7" diameter.
