Nealon Mundt (American, 1939-2015) graduated from Menlo Atherton High School in 1958, served at home in the U.S. Army, and majored in History at U.C. Santa Cruz. Retired, he had worked for the County of Santa Cruz, as an English teacher in Tokyo and Rome, in Italian films doing acting and voice-over roles, and as a local artist and photographer.
Encouraged by his mother Annette, Nealon early on displayed a talent for drawing, painting, and music. In his teens, she accompanied him on a life-changing tour of Europe, engendering his love of art, photography, cinematography, ancient history, languages, and world travel. He spent his life in pursuit of these passions, living in Rome, Italy for many years and travelling extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, India, and Central America. He was an avid collector of fine art, oriental carpets, coins and stamps. Nealon was happiest tromping around ancient ruins, surrounded by exotic sights and sounds. See less
