The bowl … Read more This extra large Prato Casca is a ceramic bowl manufactured in Brazil at the studio Cores da Terra. The bowl is designed by Selma Calheira, founder of the studio, and produced following a modern interpretation of the traditional Japanese raku firing technique. A charred color is achieved by baking the clay with sawdust in an oxygen educed environment. The brown color is produced during the cooling process after baking, when the clay is exposed to smoke from different types of wood and leaves. Prato Casca testifies to the mastery of Selma Calheira as a ceramist and to the sustainable production methods used at Cores da Terra. See less
