The table features somewhat Keith … Read more 1990s sculptural cut and molded steel and glass console table by Drew Smith (American, 1948-2009). The table features somewhat Keith Haringesque capering figures on both sides of the piece. Colorful hand blown glass inserts throughout. Clear glass panels to top and shelf below. Weighty and substantial ( heavy gauge quarter inch steel). Signed and dated 1999 on glass panel (see photos). Newly repainted frame. Excellent.
Mr. Smith was a prominent master glassblower, exhibiting his work throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. His work appears in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian and Corning Glass Museum. In 1999, he was featured in Glass Art Magazine and presented as one of the four leading glass furniture makers in the world. See less
