Isa van der Zee studied at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam. Watercolourist, painter, glass engraver, enameller, muralist, etcher. Student of Jan Wiegers, among others. She married the artist George van der Wagt. In 1954 she won the Cohen Gosschalk Prize. She exhibited at the Dutch Bank - Galerie S in Amsterdam abroad, among others - as well as at the Stedelijk Museum. She is also known for her gold engravings, such as this donated work, a painting made using the technique of metal engraving with the addition of gold paint colours and gold leaf, framed with passe-partout - many of these engravings were acquired by corporate collections.
