Wonderful 19th century miniature portrait of a young woman painted in oil or watercolor. Framed in white engraved bone piano keys with curved glass overlay. Probably French. Printed paper on back.
Traditionally these portraits were framed using secondhand piano keys of either bone (usually bovine or camel) or celluloid, or from "French Ivory" (which is a form of celluloid).
