Vintage / antique balancing scale with wood case, marble top, and metal workings. Possibly late 19th century French, currently used as a decorative plant stand for indoor pots. The mechanisms work so the heavier object will weigh down one side.
Appears to be an old repair on one side where the wood split—see photo. Also some discoloration to the marble.
