George Nelson, American (1908-1986)
This is an early edition 'Steel frame' sofa set designed by George Nelson and produced by Herman Miller in the late 1950s. It is composed in two benches hosting 5 modular elements (3 seatings with backrest, 1 seating and 1 table top), these provide multiple configuration possibilities.
The set was originally sourced in Japan by it's previous owner at a Tokyo model agency. We've had it entirely reupholstered in a soft lilac fabric.
Very good overall condition, the bases show minor wear on the lacquer.
