Ultra rare early 70s Space Age side tables in the style of Eero Saarinen and part of Broyhills Chapter One Premier Series. ”Exciting, exotic, exhilarating and ecstatically colorful.” That’s how Broyhill described their CHAPTER ONE line of ultra-modern furniture with space age design, state-of-the art technology and innovative materials in their 1971 catalog.
Listed as "snack tables" in Broyhill’ Premier's 1971 catalog. The model 6317-07 as it's listed, looks like it came right off the set of Kubrick's 2001 Space Oddesy.. Very similar in design to Eero Saarinen's famous Tulip table, the snack tables are supported by white lacquered, tulip-style spun steel pedestals. The tops are of Broyhill’s newly developed Pionite high gloss laminate and are banded with lacquered veneer. The tables are not marked, however, they can be safely attributed by the catalog listing.
