A beautifully detailed 19th century Persian brass scribe’s Qalamdan: a bombe shaped inkwell with a shell-shaped lid cover, tubular pen box and etched decorative engraving throughout.
Qalamdans were frequently used by traveling calligraphers and scribes for merchants and government officials to store quills in the long pen box and dry ink in the well.
