This dynamic mixed media work by Jack Amoroso, created in 1965, captures the energy and movement of horseback riders in a stylized and abstract manner. Rendered on board panel with bold strokes of watercolor Pastel / charcoal and ink, the composition combines gestural lines and subtle shading to create depth and texture. The central figure, a rider in a broad-brimmed hat, leans forward on a galloping horse, while the abstracted forms in the background suggest additional riders in motion.
The earthy tones of the board enhance the raw, energetic quality of the piece, while the handcrafted wooden frame adds a rustic charm. This artwork reflects Amoroso’s skill in conveying motion and atmosphere, making it a compelling addition to collections focused on mid-20th-century art or equestrian themes.
