Attributed to … Read more Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown opalescent white with orange to green "Chalcedony" surface Italian art glass flowers paperweight. Attributed to designer Galliano Ferro. There are 2 original labels attached. The paperweight has clusters of different flower murrines, in sets of 3 (there is a set of 2 as well). The designs on the flowers are also different on many of the sets. Colors are blue, white, red-pink, yellow, green, and more within each flower. The surface is covered with layers of silver leaf, which triggers a chemical reaction with the opal glass layers, creating the "Chalcedony" technique with amber, dark orange, green and yellow hues mixed throughout. I have owned several pieces with this technique, vases mostly, with the Fornasa De Murano A L'Insegna Del Moreto label. This one has a more generic "Murano AF" abstract rooster label, along with a plain item number label still attached. It has the numbers "87032" on it. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or coffee table. Late Mid-century era. It is solid and very heavy for its size. Measures: 4 1/4" tall x 3" wide.
