The so-called “crater” shape vases are vases inspired by Greek antiquity; they were originally used for wine.
These Vases are also objects that can be described as belonging to the objects of the "Grand Tour": from the end of the 17th century, young men from good families set off on this initiatory journey, initially to Italy and in Greece, to discover the founding cultural and artistic origins of our civilization.
from these trips, they brought back “souvenirs”, objects made inspired by Greece or ancient Italy.
