Very finely crafted, transparent glazed, also on the inside (craquelé). Hand signed ML 3035 on the underside.

Professor Max Laeuger is one of the pioneers of German art ceramics of the 20th century. His objects were made in the Tonwerke Kandern from 1897 to 1914 and then in his own studio until 1944. They made a significant contribution to German Art Nouveau. These decorative vessels and architectural ceramics showed colorful, slip-painted, mostly plant-based, naturalistic to abstract stylized decorations on colored grounds.
