This exceptional English mahogany tea caddy offers complex inlays on the top with line inlays, diamond form inlays, and barber … Read more This exceptional English mahogany tea caddy offers complex inlays on the top with line inlays, diamond form inlays, and barber pole inlays forming a border. Enclosing ebonized rectangular inlays with ebonized circular corners, center on a grained central rectangular form ebonized box. These forms are continued at front, sides and back. At center each side is a basket with a ring form lift in brass. The whole is supported by brass ball feet. There are more treats inside. When open, the inside of the lid is lined with Russian leather on which rests a stag's head mount in guilt bronze . There are two inner tea compartments and each is covered by mahogany lid, bounded by triangular form and blind inlays enclosing square inlay and a diamond form small inlay with barber pole and further triangular shapes centering on bone knobs.
